Description: This polygon feature layer represents chip seal zones maintained and administered by the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) in Ada County, Idaho. Chip seal zones are defined geographic areas used by ACHD to systematically plan, schedule, and administer chip seal pavement preservation treatments across the road network. Chip sealing is a cost-effective pavement preservation strategy that extends roadway service life by applying a layer of liquid asphalt binder and aggregate to existing pavement surfaces. The dataset is intended to support pavement preservation planning, maintenance scheduling, budget forecasting, capital improvement programming, asset management, and land administration across the ACHD jurisdiction. Data was compiled and is maintained by the Ada County Highway District.
